20 images due in your UA Box labeled Project 1
Photography can be slippery when it comes to precise meanings. While the photographer might have something specific in mind when they make a photograph, how it is interpreted by others can sometimes vary greatly, based on context and other factors. For this assignment, we will explore this often-entertaining gap between how a photograph is conceived by the photographer versus how it is received by the audience.
A select number of words: 2 The generator will provide you with two words on the right. Not just any words, but…an adjective! Pick one word and shoot. Please do not share your word with anyone else.
Create 20 images that express the meaning of your word. Try as many different approaches to expressing your word as possible, avoiding repeat approaches.
Example:
If your word is “angry,” how can this be shown? Certainly, an angry face might work for one image, but what comes next for the remaining 19? See how far you can push your word, visually.
Please keep in mind helpful compositional approaches. Use the whole frame.
